Hainan's Danzhou Nada Urban-Rural Integrated Water Supply Project Reaches Farm Districts

The Xipei and Xiqing farm areas of the Nada urban-rural integrated water supply project in Danzhou, Hainan Province, have achieved full-area water supply, giving about 5,000 households and 24,000 residents access to stable, high-quality municipal water. The project involves more than 1,400 km of new pipelines covering five townships — Nada, Heqing, Nanfeng, Lanyang and Dacheng — benefiting 156,000 people. Australia Completes AUD 150 Million Southern Storage Dam for NSW Coastal Shire

The AUD 150 million (about US$108 million) Southern Storage Facility has been completed and commissioned in Eurobodalla Shire, New South Wales, Australia. Located near Bodalla, the dam is 370 m long and 39 m high, supported by a 3,000 ML off-river storage and a new Tuross River pump station with a maximum daily extraction of 26 ML. Funded by the federal National Water Grid Fund, the state government and the shire council, the reservoir is undergoing filling and testing and is expected to reach full capacity in 2027, fully connecting the regional supply system and strengthening the coastal shire's drought resilience.

Nevada Breaks Ground on First Advanced Water Purification and Reuse Facility

Construction has begun on American Flat, Nevada's first advanced water purification facility, near Reno, following more than 15 years of study and planning. The facility will treat about 7,570 m³ per day of reclaimed water using ozone and biologically active carbon (without reverse osmosis, avoiding brine discharge). The treated water will be filtered through activated carbon and disinfected with UV before being injected into the groundwater aquifer and ultimately entering the Reno area's drinking water supply, reducing reliance on the drought-affected Truckee River and cutting reclaimed water discharges into Swan Lake.
