Brief Introduction

DCRL12-RDK150 G2A 485 to LoRaWAN collector (uplink LoRaWAN, downlink 485) based on edge computing is a product specially developed for Internet of Things communication occasions. The product is compatible with RS485 industry standards (DL/T645, CJ/T188, MODBUS protocol). It is used to realize LoRaWAN communication for terminals with RS485 communication interface.

The collector is simple to use. Only install the collector in the area that the LoRaWAN gateway signal can cover. The point-to-point data collection is completed through the gateway, with low power consumption, long service life and two-way data transmission. It provides a reliable guarantee for the accurate collection of real-time data. The collector can automatically upload data to the gateway. The gateway automatically uploads data to the network platform. The product has simple structure and is easy to maintain and replace. No uplink communication cable connection, easy and fast installation. The product is designed according to the concept of industrial control standards, with energy saving and isolated communication! It has the characteristics of strong anti-interference ability, long transmission distance, high speed and stable operation.

  • Downlink RS485 interface (baud rate can be set), with 1-32 terminals. Uplink LoRaWAN.

Composition Working Principle

The uplink communication module of the collector is the LoRaWAN protocol communication module. The local setting port adopts RS485 communication mode. The meter communication port communicates with the electricity meter on the downlink 485 bus through RS485 communication mode.

The collector receives the reading/control instructions of the collector itself and the reading/control instructions of the electric energy meter on the 485 bus downstream of the collector issued by the cloud management platform through the LoRa module.

The collector has the function of automatically collecting and uploading the predetermined data of the electric energy meter on the downlink bus of the collector. This function requires the platform to issue a specified and connected 485 electricity meter in advance. Once the electric energy meter files (0~32) are downloaded successfully, the collector will discard the meter instructions that are not in the files issued by the uplink.


Principle and function block diagram of collector

  • Power supply module: use efficient switching power supply module for power supply;
  • LoRa communication module: realize data interaction between LoRa node and gateway. Select the Class C working mode in the LoRaWAN standard protocol;
  • Local setting port: it has the operation parameters of the query collector, and has the option to set some operation parameters;
  • Downlink meter communication port: enable the unified communication baud rate according to the baud rate setting value of the downlink port in the collector;
  • Main control module: control the data receiving/sending of three serial channels. At the same time, the internal E2 data is stored/read. At the same time, set the status of the indicator according to the current working status to inform the field personnel of the working status of the collector.


Operation, Adjustment and Installation

  • The collector does not need to be operated and adjusted by the user after leaving the factory. It shall be installed and used by professional personnel according to the installation wiring diagram.
  • Before the installation of the collector, check the lead seal of the manufacturer. The lead seal is in good condition and start the installation.
  • The collector is installed in a ventilated and dry place. Ensure safe and reliable installation and use.
  • The collector shall be wired according to the wiring diagram shown in the manual. All terminals connected with copper wire or copper connector must be tightened.
  • Wiring diagram: 1 is the main power L-input, 2 is the main power N-input. 5 to A1, 6 to B1, 7 to A2, 8 to B2.


Indicator Description

  • Online: After the collector is powered on, the LoRa communication module automatically initiates the join action to access the network. The indicator flashes. When the module is successfully connected to the network, the indicator will turn to the normally on mode;
  • Uplink: When the uplink LoRa module receives/sends data. The indicator light flashes once. The normal state is off;
  • Downlink: when the uplink meter bus port receives/sends data. The indicator light flashes once. The normal state is off;
  • A1, B1, A2 and B2 terminals are RS-485 interfaces
  • A1 and B1 terminals: RS-485 communication port of downstream meter.
  • A2 and B2 terminals: set RS-485 communication port locally
